To be honest, it looks kind of bad. Way to "chunky" looking.

The Moto 360, while not perfect, looks a lot better in my opinion.
  • mscrivo - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

    Completely agree.
  • cappiels - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

NO WAY.... the Moto 360 is FAT... VERY thick when you look at it from the side.. compare the Moto 360 with the Apple Watch in person.. you will rather have the Apple Watch on your wrist, I guarantee it!
  • daveloft - Friday, September 12, 2014 - link

All smartwatches are fat. But the Moto 360 is thinner than the Apple Watch. Moto 360 is 11.5mm thick and the Apple Watch, both 38mm and 42mm versions are 12.46mm thick. Source: http://www.gizmag.com/moto-360-vs-lg-g-watch-r/337... & http://www.paulsprangers.com/2014/09/apple-watch-d...
  • NEDM64 - Monday, September 15, 2014 - link

OMG, does anybody care about that, and a difference of less than 10%, where the shape is more important to your comfort than anything else?

It's about the height of an human finger, and that's the normal height for a modern watch. And what about batteries and sensors?

The only sub-10mm i can think of are dress watches that are completely different form these casual/sports watches...
  • 55Tan - Tuesday, December 9, 2014 - link

The Apple Smartwatch is nothing like the other smart watches on the market (I'd recommend seeing a ranking like http://www.topreport.org/wearable/ instead).
  • ol1bit - Friday, September 12, 2014 - link

I now own a Moto 360, and it is not fat at all. I have many real watches that are fatter and heavier than the 360! Oh and it looks awesome in real life as well!
  • piroroadkill - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yeah, it's remarkably ugly and similar to pretty much every other old cheap smart watch.

The Moto 360 is a pretty device with a terrible old SoC that gives it sluggish performance and dreadful battery life, which was a stunningly poor decision.

So now roles are reversed with the usual deal: Apple has the ugly, fast product, and in the Android camp, Motorola has the much more beautiful product that is slow.
  • Laxaa - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yeah. I don't know what Moto was thinking using a OMAP 3 in the 360.
  • lcdsantos - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

And about LG G watch R?
  • Laxaa - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

That one looks very much like a regular watch. I'm interested to see how the battery life fares.

I am also dissappointed that Apple didn't disclose the battery life in the Apple Watch. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
  • eanazag - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

I'd like to see that, too. I'm not getting a car charger for my watch.

I think $350 is a bit steep too. I think the watch is the new crime piece. #iwatch-just-got-robbed.
  • JRX16 - Sunday, September 28, 2014 - link

They will disclose it. That was just a preview, it's not released yet. They are still tweaking it obviously, it's not in production yet.
  • invinciblegod - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Hey, you never know maybe lg will oneup Motorola and use an omap2!
  • piroroadkill - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yeah, I think the G Watch R is a fine looking device too, and honestly, for square devices, the ZenWatch is much better looking than the Apple Watch.
  • tipoo - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

To be fair, we have no idea of the relative performance of S1 yet either. I don't think the watch needs anything more than a single core, perhaps something Cortex A7 derived, which would not be much faster than the A8 in the 360. We'll have to wait for die scans.
  • eanazag - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

It said it will leverage the phone for processing and requires an iPhone 5 or newer for pairing. It is basically a thin client/chromebook-like for the PC analogy.
  • tipoo - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

They do still need some localized processing, animations and stuff don't lend themselves well to being processed elsewhere (ie touch response would be way slower)
  • tuxRoller - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

I've said this before but I really don't think either os needs more than an cortex a5. The problem for noon apple companies, is that I'm not aware of a current gen soc a5 with a decent CPU.
  • OreoCookie - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

The round display of the Motorola 360 makes for a nicer-looking watch, but for worse usability. I'm not so much skeptical of the Apple Watch but of the whole category of smart watches.
  • coburn_c - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

The regular old LCD gives it the terrible battery life as well. Sony at least used transflective so it doesn't always have a backlight on.. the G watch R and the Samsung are decent devices.. stupid products but decent hardware.
  • FrenchMac - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Except that those whose see it in person find that it looks better on the wrist that on a stand and that the moto 360 look worst on the wirst than on the photos (the moto 360 is really big for most wrist)
  • cappiels - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

I actually quite like the way the Apple Watch looks. The attention to detail on the wrist bands is incredible. Gorgeous stuff. I just wish the technology was there to keep the Apple watch a bit smaller and have a longer battery life (and have a 3g radio, and this and this and this).. BUT.. as we've learned, we can't have it all, at least not, right away. The Apple Watch reminds me of the first iPod and the first iPhone, but better than both of those. This is the first of the first generation Apple devices I will buy, because, I finally can stop looking at my iPhone a 100 times a day, and can go running with my phone in my pouch and can screen calls, control my iPhone, respond to texts, all from my wrist.. now, that's fancy.
  • NEDM64 - Monday, September 15, 2014 - link

I also like, specially the space/planets theme, that's where time came form.

I think there was more thought into this, than the competition that looks that have just found a "cool" looking normal watch and put a computer on it.
  • ol1bit - Friday, September 12, 2014 - link

I have zero speed issues with my Moto 360 so far, but of course I'm not playing games with it or watching videos, why would I?
  • JRX16 - Sunday, September 28, 2014 - link

How is it ugly? Not all watches are round, and a square screen makes so much more sense for a smart watch
  • MartinT - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

    +1

This could as well be a Samsung.
  • NEDM64 - Monday, September 15, 2014 - link

A Samsung... Watch... With so many options, and made of metal? With magnetically attached bracelets and charger????

    Too much...
  • saliti - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

IMHO Asus ZenWatch looks better than this too.
  • saliti - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

And LG G watch R too.
  • piroroadkill - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yup. G Watch R is a fine looking piece of kit.
  • sigmatau - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

The G Watch R would be nice except for the hideous bezel. It seems like the manufactures find some way to make their watches suck. Either a terribly ugly square design, or a beautiful round design with terrible silicon and battery life, or a round design with a redundant ugly bezel.
  • piroroadkill - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

They did it to hide the display driver, as far as I understand it, so they didn't have the flattened part like the Moto 360.
  • piroroadkill - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yeah, ZenWatch, G Watch R, 360, they all genuinely look much more classy. How did Apple get the design so... generic?
  • Friendly0Fire - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

You're not alone. I'd not seen the G Watch R before, and it looks good, but the ZenWatch is outright classy I think. Apple's looks like a toy in comparison, and reminds me of the half-baked watches Samsung put out in quick succession in an attempt to preemptively cash-in before Apple came around.

I think Samsung will be relieved to see that they don't have much to fear.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Everybody is expecting to be wowed by this product but instead got a "meh!". This was the issue where Apple constantly delayed their "expected" launches and now moving it to next year which is extremely risky. They had no choice really. They were so late and now we see the design being so bland and bulky and possibly had battery life issues. It took them 3 years to develop this and it is almost unbelievable if see this result. They tried to cram in so many features, hopefully many can be turned-off by the user rather than have them running. The Tethering is a concern as well. Not all people will turn on BlueTooth all the time. Some prefers only when they think, they wanted some important things like using a headset or accessing a wireless accessory. People who uses the Nano for fitness are unlikely to carry their phone during a run or jog session so the iWatch should be able to work UN-tethered either. Unknown if it is possible.
While Apple wants to think that the Crown knob is innovative in navigation, it actually will NOT be because it confuses the user in needing (thus wanting to touch the screen : muscle memory). Using sensor strips on the side would have been better and dispense with buttons altogether. Jobs would have said NO to the crown button. It is just a silly idea, as though it is the best alternative but not the case in practical longer term use.
Now for thickness of the watch. It is going to be such strong negative that Apple would have to HALF it in a hurry. The competition probably will start a new generation of Wear watches that will put them further ahead and provide far more model choices than just one!.
The one size fits all is not going to work for the watch industry. I am sure their "consultants" constantly say that to them. Listen!.
If Apple only solely keep phone compatibility to the iPhone, then it will be marginalized in the longer haul. Got do WP, Blackberry and Android compatibility and be open. At least, it will have a chance to compete.
  • notuptome2004 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Apple has never delayed a product and i am Sorry if you expected the Apple watch to be shown off then launched this month but Apple showed it off early to say look this is what we are working on. see up until the Apple watch was shown off it was nothing m,ore then a rumor a RUMOR samething goes for the Apple TV set as it was supposed to based on RUMOR been shown off by now and launched but guess what NO Product exist Apple does not have a TV set in the works
  • barleyguy - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

    Yeah, definitely fugly.
  • tuxRoller - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Yup. The circular face just looks great. If only the battery life was better and the watch a bit smaller.
  • Jumangi - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Except the SoC is an outdated piece of junk that gives it crappy battery life. Another device with questionable value that I have to keep track of its battery and plug in on a daily basis? Fail.

Smartwatches are the tech world trying to create a device that the vast majority of people will have no interest in even if it has an Apple logo on it.
  • happycamperjack - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Yea definitely uglier than I expected from Apple. It might be more useful than other smart watches, but it sure is UGLY!! When Samsung's smartwatch looks about the same as Apple's, you know Apple is in serious trouble.

  • nathanddrews - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Are they hoping to cash in on the wave of self-aware hipster irony by making a watch that looks like something my grandpa wore in the 40s?
  • Morawka - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

So what price do you guys predict for the 18K Bigger Edition version? $999?

They are pretty pricy. But i'm glad apple reduced Nand price on iphone 6. The iphone 6 Plus is pretty damn big. i want the optical image stabilization but at the same time i want a more compact phone to pay with. Pulling out a 6 inch peace of metal to pay for groceries isn't ideal.
  • tipoo - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

I'm hoping the two sizes are the same price, as it seems to be an unspoken gendered difference.
  • DarkXale - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Its just 18k gold plating. Not at all expensive, and you get plenty of sub-100 USD watches with it.
  • Jannaj - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Apple's site says "Each has a watch case crafted from 18-karat gold" so unless they are being deliberately misleading, this is not plating.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Want to bet that Apple will ask $1049 for the gold plated watch ?!.

It has some interesting things, nevertheless... The force touch, the wheel (had one on a Samsung Windows Mobile phone and it was good for scrolling).

And it has appeal to non-geek population, I think. And saphire glass.
  • Dug - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Incredible interface compared to other watches. No other watch offers this ease of use and smooth transitions.
  • Dug - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Not to mention the different bands that goes way beyond anything offered currently.
  • piroroadkill - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Wow, they really do exist. People that think Apple has revolutionised something as simple and time-tested as the watch band.
  • bplewis24 - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

And they're talking about ease of use and interface of something that won't be released for at least 3-4 months. So, nothing else can compare to this thing that doesn't exist yet.

  • meshugge - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

So, am I the only person who was disappointed at the "early 2015" date - are they really doing announcements for products that are 5 months away now?
  • Impulses - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

It's a total thunder steal move...
  • Nogami - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Stealing thunder from which company though? Samsung has released ugly crap, Motorola has released a nice looking watch that's dog slow and could need charging 3 times a day, and Pebble has great battery life, but lacking in speed and UI.
  • Impulses - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Which goes to show how much they want a piece of the market, this kinda pre announcement is very unusual for them.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

This is where the risk comes in for Apple. The market hype caused last year kept building so pressure from the shareholders and press is such that, if they failed to announce this year, it would negatively affect their stock prices. So they had no choice. It is their own fault but it seems they handled it well so far. This risk now is negative press on what is so far released or demo-ed. Also, since their cards are out, the competitor has more intelligence in terms of leap-frogging their efforts especially in fixing the faults and building an even better "user experience" than Apple originally had.
The Crown idea is just gimmicky and stupid really. The edges of the watch and corners can be exploited with "special" touch, slide and tap" to seal the user experience as an extension of the screen touches. Apple needs to try really hard and release HALF a dozen models to enable choice to users. It is a watch and now their phone has 4 models. Let me repeat FOUR models in how many years ?!. Louder, the competition is thundering ....
  • FriendlyUser - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

I'd like to read an unbiased review of the thing. Intuitively, smartwatches must suck, but maybe Apple has done something nice with the idea. We'll see...
  • douglaswilliams - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Waterproof? Can I swim with it? To track my time and laps...
  • Connoisseur - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Pretty much every mechanical/quartz watch is water resistant to some degree. Even the ones that aren't specifically rated to a depth. I doubt you'll be able to go swimming with this. I think its just protected from splashes, sweat and very light submerging (a sink)
  • SilthDraeth - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Even if the watch is water proof enough to swim with prolonged exposure submerged under water, the info states it must communicate with iPhone 5 or newer to function. So you better have a full on waterproof case for your iPhone and hope it can communicate through the water. If swimming competitively I can't imagine dragging a phone with you!

Basically this is a simple processor to display pass data back and forth to the iPhone and display what info the iPhone tells it to. It hopefully can tel time on its own. And maybe around an alarm if the iPhone moves out of range.

I didn't catch if it were WiFi or Bluetooth.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

NO chance of swimming with it!. No way in this model. Maybe three years from now ....
  • isa - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

I'm glad Apple is in the smartwatch market to drive competition, and I'm confident they'll eventually provide a competent offering, but this first version will not scare any competitor or delight any customer compared to what's currently available. No GPS, no SIM, high price, clunky look. Ouch.
  • deadlockedworld - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Seriously? You want a SIM card on your watch? ... uh?

Agree that its not the most attractive, but the apple pay feature is going to crush everything. Google has been trying to do this for a while now, and seems to have already lost the lead with retailers who must just be THRILLED at the idea of higher-income iphone shoppers walking around buying everything.
  • Morawka - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

i bet retailers will be upset about some aspects of the apple mobile payments system. For example, When you make a purchase with your iphone, it uses a temporary credit card number. A lot of companies are gonna be upset that they dont have their customers card info on file.
  • bplewis24 - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

That makes no sense, even assuming Apple owners are higher income. They've already been spending their money at wherever these pay terminals will exist. It's not like they had no way to pay for things before. Retailers aren't going to make any more money than they did before, no matter what is used for payment.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

This is exactly the case i high value items which people do not buy everyday or every-week. It is for smaller items that people buy a few times a week like food, groceries, maybe clothing.
The convenience factor is not so much a benefit for people but can be if they have a choice where they shop especially if they can get better service for a given payment mode.

Something is up since it is not being launched till the new year missing the holiday season. Not that I have cash for it.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

This is where Apple could pull a surprise for people and ship limited numbers to pre-orders for the holiday season. It is hard to understand how any company would miss a big holiday season when it is clearly their own FAULT that they failed to produce a product in time of market expectation. Buyers can wait only so long then, they switch and if and when they find the competition good they will not come back. This has been the case for many high-end users who have "outgrown" apple. Yeah, they value more choice, freedom and the flexibility it gives them. No brand can keep people in a leash once people understand their buying power and the power of choice. ie Buy others or not to buy at all.
  • IKeelU - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

love the look and design. Curved edges are the new modern, and combined with the sapphire it gives a slight halo around the screen. The gold option is a nice touch and will cement apple as the high end choice for smartwatches (even Samsung et al improve on the specs). I hope they plan a simultaneous Asian release because China/India will gobble this up.
  • NCM - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

The Apple Watch looks a bit chunky viewed alone, but check out the pictures of people wearing it (yes, admittedly they're gorgeous models) on Apple's web site. It looks pretty good on the wrist. I don't see myself as a potential buyer, but in practice it's a decent looking piece of kit.

  • Bladen - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

Looking at the picture of the three watches, the sport one reveals that there is a fair gap/boarder between the bezel and the screen. All the images try to mask the same by having black backgrounds on the screen, which may be effective to a degree when implemented, but I would have thought that they would have engineered a better product than that.
  • jmsb - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

You are right, hard to see in most of the renders but that is a big black boarder around the edge.
Several mm around all 4 sides.
  • ol1bit - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

This appears to be one of the worst smart watch designs, and that's after 2 years of other smart watches. Maybe Motorola hired all the good Apple designers.
  • jjj - Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - link

If the announced size is the height of the body ,excluding the hinges ,then the thickness including the back hump appears over 12mm and the screen on the 42mm one is most likely 1.5 inches and 5:4 AR.
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Yeah, 12 mm thickness is a huge problem. A show stopper, if you asked me. It should be 6mm of less.... This thickness kills the elegance of the watch itself due to protruding top also in motion, it tends to slide away from the top wrist if the band is too lose. Some people wear their watches with slightly loose strap .... they will stop wearing this as it will be uncomfortable after a few hours.
  • arvivaz - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Triwa iWatch Concept. I prefer this design over the LG G Watch R, the Moto 360 or the Samsung 3G. But unfortunately, it's just a concept.
  • mutatio - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

The standalone images don't make it look too appealing, though the images shown in the presentation of what it looks like on the wrist actually look pretty good. I think some 3rd party bands will be inevitable and I'd love to see one that is as wide as the watch face and then tapers in. That'd clean up the sort of boxy appearance of it from the side as well as looking at it straight on.

How will Apple Pay work without touch ID? (Did I miss something?)
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

I do NOT think Apple Pay would work on the watch without the iPhone since it needs to GET the token from iCloud. The watch cannot reach internet via Bluetooth alone. BT4 is for client to host connectivity only. So a phone is needed. An iPhone in this case or maybe an iPad with LTE or Wifi.
  • ol1bit - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Steve would be pissed, Apple always tries for form and function. Before the Moto 360, I'd say this new iWatch was at least competitive with the other square watches, but that is not Apple's MO. They build better fancier electronics. We have no idea about performance, but only lasting a day just like the Moto 360 seems like a fail for Apple Design. Oh and I should get my first Smart Watch Wednesday...The Moto 360 of course, so I'll see if the OMAP 3 is really that bad on tinny screen.
  • jameskatt - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

The Apple Watch is far more beautiful than any of the competition. The level of craftsmanship, detail and thought brought into it is amazing. It is interesting to see how a professional does the job compared to amateurs like Samsung and Motorola. The Apple Watch is art and technology.

Finally an American who can write a genuinely sarcastic comment, that doesn't apear to be one at first sight, well done! :)
  • fteoath64 - Thursday, September 11, 2014 - link

Apple loves to give people crap like "craftsmanship", these things are manufactured in China!. There is no craftsmanship involved. It just get stamped by an industrial machine and pressed together with glue. Same as their other products. In fact copious amount of glue just to ensure no rattle.
Expensive Swiss watches however, had craftsmanship since the crystals are placed or glued by hand and some tiny peices meticulously assembled by a craftsman with a huge magnifying glass. Then tuned for timing accuracy. Electronics are just stamped from chips to pcb, to batteries to casing. Unless some Chinese below-minimum-wage guy gets to spit shine the sapphire glass, then he/she introduced some contaminants to the package. Included with all the dusts in the assembly room itself.
  • flyingpants1 - Thursday, September 18, 2014 - link

    Wow, that's not the point.
  • Sushisamurai - Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - link

Price wise, it's fairly decent, as getting a sapphire watch is around $400-500 for a decent one... so @$350 for a sapphire watch is not bad. Battery life can only tell how well designed it is. I like the concept, seems novel with the communication methods from watch to watch. I just hope it's not an iPad 1 to iPad 2 kind of thing.

Why would it not be an IPad1 to iPad2 kind of thing ?. The innards including the LCD display are electronic parts that evolves including the battery for that matter. Future versions will no doubt be slimmer and maybe different shapes for adult male, adult female, teenagers etc.
Function wise it will not vary. I would not hold out for this but if Apple were smart, they could put 8GB or 16GB Flash in there. It sure as heck would have to beat the Wear 4GB of NAND Flash. Remember Apple buys the most amount of flash in the world so it is lowest prices per GB for them. Just that they charge huge premium from 16GB to 64GB to 128GB in their phones just because they have no SDcard slot for expansion!.

I think they introduced this to temporarily satisfy investors. It's half cooked; they know it, we know it!

Its a lot of money to pay for a watch that will be obsolete in 6-12 months.

Thats the point none of the tame tech press want to talk about. Crazy pills time!

Is it just me or is Apple's latest-and-greatest identical to all the chinese knock-offs we see around? That sharp design "edge" that Apple had over the competition seems to have flown the coop.

I've seen far more *yawn* interesting stuff designed out of Taiwan and China than this...

Well, there are only 3 axes in real space. Kind of limits Ive.

Are you saying Ivy has been living in Dark Matter since the demise of Jobs ?.

IF Ivy were to design a new car for Tesla, the Model Z for example. We will see one door only and that door would be complete perspex (see through!). Heck, 95% of the time there is only one driver and he/she needs to look good so we let everyone else see the driver in their full glory. The welcome voice would be " You good gloriously SMASHING today, how about a Conan joke ? ".

This is for For all the ios and droid geeks ,nerds or intellectuals who think they are in the know.. on whats beautiful in watch design. Who thinks a timex, Armitron or Casio calculator watch strapped with a leather band is high fashion.
As a avid watch collector Apple watch is a timeless elegant precision design with physical digital crown and force touch screen gives this device a very graceful feel of form and function. Not to mention a unmatched array of sizes, materials and bands that will suit the needs of almost anyone. If still in doubt ask the kool guy or girl next to you for advice and follow their lead.

And will be worth how much to anyone in say 3 years time?

A quality watch will always have some value even after 10 years. This and any other smartwatch...junk.

The screen images of the phone looked spectacular. Can we get guesstimated resolution by the Anandtech folks that were able to see the watch up close?

A watch should be an investment. Not a device that will be useless after a year or two.

    Worship the holy apple.

The apple way, selling over expensive crap to stupid consumers that like to
    get robbed.

This has been a disastrous launch in every respect. The iwatch is such an
ugly piece of crap, it is truly unbelievable how a company, formerly known for
its remarkable design, dares to put out such a crap ton of shit. Some
characteristics are glaringly obvious and inherent to it: over expensive,
hardly innovative, limited functionality and usability (need of an iPhone to
make it work), looks exactly like a toy watch and so on.

There are of course way better smart watches out there, especially form the
likes of Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Asus, LG, simply put, there is no need for
another piece of over expensive junk.

The iPhone 6 is technologically stuck in pre-2011 times, a base model witch
a capacity of 16GB without the possibility to use SD cards isn't even funny
anymore. The screen resolution is horrendous, it isn't water proof, shock and
dust resistant, it offers nothing innovative, just some incremental
updates over its predecessor, both lacking severely behind their competitors at
    their respective launch dates.

Now the Iphone 6 Plus offers a „Retina HD“ screen, full 1920x1080p, oh wow,
where have you been for the past 4 years apple, talk about trailing behind.
That’s pathetic. The interesting thing about that is the fact that apple
always manages to sell backwards oriented, outdated crap to its user base, all
while pretending to be an innovative technology leader. The similarities
regarding any form of sectarian cult are striking.

You gotta love how Apple always comes up with new marketing bullshit terms,
aka "Retina HD", with the intention to manipulate its users while preventing easy
comparisons with its competitors by withholding the actual specs. Apparently it’s
not enough to have an 1080p screen, you have to call it "Retina HD" to make those
suckers buy it, otherwise someone could look at the 4K Amoled and Oled screens
form LG and Samsung devices and get outright disappointed. Same goes for
everything else. Every outdated „feature“ needs to get its own marketing label
to persuade buyers with crappy „experience“ and „usability“ ads, while covering
the truth with marketing gibberish, knowing full well that only a fraction of
aforementioned buyers cares to look at the facts and dares to compare them.

Car engines come to mind. For comparisons shake let’s look at a 1.0 liter, turbo
charged petrol engine and a V8 compressor. What’s better should be obvious, but
by calling the former an „ecobooster“, thus giving it a special marketing label,
this joke becomes a „feature“, something positive that can be added tot the list
    of features of a car.

By doing so a negative aspect is transformed into a positive one, the
reality is distorted, non tech savvy buyers are manipulated and comparisons are
made more difficult (another layer of marketing bullshit to overcome), well done
marketing department. You see , if something is seriously lacking (of course for
profit, what else), don’t bother explaining, just give it a nice marketing term, distort
reality, make it a feature and call it a day. Fuck that!!

The Apple Iphone 1 and Ipad 1 might have been innovative at their time,
but since then, the bitten apple has been continuously rotting from the inside
outwards, always swarmed by millions of Iworms which regale themselves with its
rotten flesh, not forgetting all other Americans who support apple by means of
their tax dollars to finance its bought US Treasury/Government bond interest rates.

Last but not least, every Apple product includes a direct hotlink to the nsa,
free of charge, something that might make it a good value, after all.

    Ceterum censeo Applem esse delendam.
