I don't know what dingetje was smoking when he/she posted this comment but I personally owned 4 QNAP NAS and I have never had any problem getting tech support from QNAP folks. I have owned some Synology and Netgear in the past but QNAP has won me over as a loyal customer!
We have around 25 QNAPs at work that have been used to shuttle data in from various outside sources. We have a mix between the 6 drive 659's and the rackmount TS-809 and 879's. While the 879's we have seem to be a little more robust, the previous models have been very problematic. And tech support? I don't know where you guys are getting it from, but our experience has been horrible. The last TS-809 we had sent back for repair died after only a couple weeks. It took them 3 months to get my replacement shipped. I have another TS-809 right now that lost a drive, and after being replaced, it absolutely refuses to rebuild, and gives me no options to kick off a rebuild. The LCD is also malfunctioning, and prompting you with the RAID setup wizard on each reboot... despite the system being fully configured. I've tried calling, emailing and Skyping tech support, and it's been over 2 days now with no response at all. This has also been my support experience with all my previous calls. I want badly to recommend these, as they are really fully featured... but I just can't. I hope your experiences are better than mine have been!
