Hmmm... I will TRY to justify this card. NVIDIA won't allow higher than 355W Power Limit for OEMs to set into BIOS and the only way to make some headroom is to cut on power leakage. And what's better way to do it than throw an overkill cooler on the card? Also depends on what kind of VRMs they decided to go with.
There's a 1.2v maximum, no power limit bios you can flash that has none of the throttle points for when the core temp goes too high. And unlike with a normal BIOS where it will throttle clocks when temp gets too high, the no power limit bios will just become hold clocks even as the temps make them unstable and crash.
I know, I was using it but it's not reliable and there are bugs. Also, I have suspicion that despite the XOC BIOS is reporting the clocks without any fluctuation, it's not 3D clocks all the time as many times the increased clocks don't translate into higher performance.
I haven't seen anything vaguely officialish. Barring all the rumor mill sites claiming otherwise I'm going to assume late 2018Q2 like their last 2 years refreshes.
You don't. Look up "nVidia Boost 3.0", which basically makes any coherent OC comparisons moot. Unless you do some crazy cooling stuff, best performance might actually be to undervolt and overclock to get consistently good boost clocks at low noise.
I don't get this wasn't these 1080 cards already able to hit these speed even up to 2ghz? Why is the head Nvidia CEO dumping his stock so aggressively?

Japanese martial arts name, steampunk clockwork themed card, sci-fi looking pump/rad. The mixed messages are strong with this one.PeachNCream - Tuesday, December 12, 2017 - link
I don't understand the point of this GPU, but I guess if I have to ask, I'm not the intended audience for it.Flunk - Tuesday, December 12, 2017 - link
Colorful is known for making cheap low-end cards. This is their stab at a real top-shelf offering, it's not that surprising they'd make some mistakes.Man is this overcooled, that air part of the cooler OR the liquid part could either cool this card at the rated clocks no problem.

So what? Liquid cooling allows higher overclocking than air cooling.TheWereCat - Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - link

But if it's faster than the titan xp when overclocked couldn't I just oc my titan xp by the same amount and regain the lead?Looks to me like Xp and Ti's all share the same OC envelope. Should always compare stock to stock and oc to oc

Unless I'm mistaken isn't the Titan Xp about twice the cost of a typical GTX 1080 Ti?eek2121 - Tuesday, December 12, 2017 - link

Love the way this card looks. Not that I'd buy it for this but still, I like it.
