    My house is leaking water.

All the more water cooling for my new GPU.

Who in Gigabyte's marketing team came up with that awful name? Aorus... LOL
  • Hurr Durr - Friday, June 30, 2017 - link

As if "waterforce" is any beter.
  • bigboxes - Friday, June 30, 2017 - link

Water, as it cools with water. Force, as in it's a force to be reckoned with. And 5, as there's 1-2-3... that's another "force".

from wiki: "The brand name "AORUS" is coined from an Egyptian god, Horus,[2] known to be the god of sky and kingship, which is depicted as a falcon. The falcon head is therefore used as AORUS's brand logo. According to employees, the first letter of HORUS was changed to "A" to represent the brand as "A team"."

I would really like to know which company is manufacturing the waterblock for Gigabyte?

It would really help me to know the processes used to apply the waterblock, the last thing you want when you buy a card with a block is to have to remove it and re-paste the GPU.
  • Itselectric - Friday, June 30, 2017 - link

My guess is that either Swiftech or EK is creating the custom water block for Gigabyte,

I dont know about you guys, but i've been having serious problems with gigabyte cards not reaching their advertised OC Mode clocks. Both my 1080 and 1080 Ti Gigabyte cards would only run on smallest OC settings. Hopefully Gigabyte notices this, if you look at their product reviews on Newegg for their 1080 Xtreme Gaming you will see plenty of similar stories.
  • bigboxes - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - link

    You have an Aorus card?
  • Morawka - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - link

no i have the Xtreme Gaming cards which are identical to these (extra VR connectors, custom board, Binned SOC's as advertised as a feature) except with a different cooler.
  • bigboxes - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - link

Is the Aorus cooler better? That would explain the better o/c.
  • bigboxes - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - link

and you have every right to complain if you're not getting the claimed o/c numbers

I have 2x Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC cards in this computer and it reaches the advertised clocks. Have you tried using Gigabytes application with the selectable OC mode?
  • Diji1 - Sunday, July 2, 2017 - link

I haven't had any issues with Gigabyte cards lower down the product line such as 1070's.
  • pyroxide - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - link

will go great with my Aero 15 in my Akitio Node.
  • m16 - Sunday, July 2, 2017 - link

That's a terrible name but otherwise a great solution.

I am a bit impressed by the amount of connectors and versatility. If it has great temperatures even in smaller cases this card is the winner so far for its class.
  • Diji1 - Sunday, July 2, 2017 - link

It seems like most dual fan air cooled GTX 10** cards overclock to 1900-2000Mhz.

And then most cooling options higher than this such as watercooling gets to around 2100Mhz unless I'm mistaken.

The added expense doesn't seem worth the small performance increase.
  • pyroxide - Sunday, July 2, 2017 - link

the 1080 Ti and Titan Xp have whole different architecture than the 1070 and 1080. you might look into GP100 vs GP102 before saying GTX 10** cards are all the same.
  • Diji1 - Sunday, July 2, 2017 - link

And what clock speed do the air cooled and liquid cooled achieve compared to each other? Thought so.
  • extide - Wednesday, July 12, 2017 - link

GP102 vs GP104, actually. GP100 is not sold as a consumer GPU.

Should i play only on the night because of price of energy. Before buy gtx 1080 reviews https://bestgtx.com/best-geforce-gtx-1080/
