I don't understand the draw of this phone. The Huawei Honor 5X is only $199 (I snagged one on prime day for just 125) and has similar specs (slightly weaker CPU, less RAM). The Zenfone 2 came out a year ago and has similar specs and also just $199.
Shouldn't stuff releasing more than a year later after its competitors have some redeeming quality? The display, battery, GPU power, modem, camera seem same?
Aluminium chassis. Latest ARM cores. Fast charging. But you are right, we are entering the era when this years Toyota Corolla is not much different from last year's Toyota Corolla. If I was Apple I would 'double their efforts' on the iCar/iDeathstar or whatever is next.
I couldn't find that info anywhere (Mediatek has the IP to do it, but with this phone being aluminum I highly doubt it. If you can get 4-5 hours of SOT with a 10 minute charge, I'm not entirely sure that Qi charging even makes sense.
The day has finally arrived when budget phones have more ram, higher resolution display, longer battery life and better chassis materials than budget laptops - and for a lower price.
You could get a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 for less than half the price of this thing and it has similar specs, except for fast charging. It also has a much larger battery. It's a funny world when cheap phones are better than expensive ones...

I am counting just 8 cores in the specification that was given in this article for the X20.ingwe - Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - link
I noticed that too. I assumed it was 4xA72 but have no idea.nandnandnand - Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - link
Should be "4 x Cortex-A53 @ 1.4 GHz" I think. The two cores are the beefiest ones.Matt Humrick - Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - link

So how is this not a complete rip off of the iPhone design?bananaforscale - Monday, July 25, 2016 - link
For one, iPhone's design isn't unique enough to give it a patent. Also, ergonomics aren't exactly patentable.serendip - Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - link

Plenty of interesting devices these days, I can't keep up. I'm about to decide that I'd ignore everything unless it is a Nexus, to get updates timely.
